Two Rivers Gallery is hosting the 3rd annual Live Art Auction in Prince George on Saturday March 20th @ 7.30.The auction boasts 25 pieces of original art donated by artists from across Canada. The evening’s entertainment includes live music, drinks, hors d’oeuvres, a treasure trove of cultural experiences in the silent auction with the Live Art Auction itself starting at 8.30.The evening closes with the drawing of the door prize draw donated by Darrell Hubbell of Hubbell Designer Goldsmiths.
The Live Art Auction of drawings, paintings, photography, felted work as well as jewellery is a generous body of original artworks donated by artists that have an exhibition record with Two Rivers Gallery and are more than pleased to support the Gallery’s fundraising efforts. The Live Art Auction preview can be previewed in the Rustad Galleria until March 19th .
The Gallery very appreciates having Doug Levis from Levis Auctioneers of Calgary return for the 3rd year in a row to lead the auction.Levis has a Fine Art background, runs a live and online art auction house in Calgary and donates as much time as possible to support the fundraising efforts of various not for profit galleries and arts centres across Canada.
Prince George is very fortunate to have so many different cultural activities happening in this community at any one time. The Gallery decided to highlight some of these by offering cultural opportunities in their silent auction such as pottery classes with the Potters Guild and a bread-making workshop at Red Rooster Bakery, family memberships and passes to the YMCA, Exploration Place, the Railway and Forestry Museum, tickets to the PGSO, TheatreNorthwest, Judy Russell Dance Recital as well as a special weekend get-away at the country lodge The LogPile in Smithers. There are also beautiful objects in textiles, wood, glass & jewellery donated by regional artisans all of which are represented in The Shop at the Gallery.
Darrell Hubbell’s jewellery pieces are one-off designs and this year Darrell designed a piece called We all come Together, and it is rather special as the raw materials used to make it was produced from disused jewellery donated by the staff and trustees of Two Rivers Gallery.
